Applicant Agility Test Scheduling Instructions
PLEASE READ CAREFULLY
1st Step: To continue in the SHERIFF PATROL OFFICER (Deputy Sheriff) process, you must have already completed an on-line application through Shelby County Government's job link: https://jobs.shelbycountytn.gov.
 
2nd Step: You must pay close attention to the following requirements which are MANDATORY for you to continue in the DEPUTY SHERIFF's application process:
  • YOU MUST BE 21 YEARS OF AGE WHEN YOU APPLY FOR THIS POSITION.

  • YOU MUST HAVE A HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA OR GED.

  • YOU MUST HAVE NO FELONY CONVICTIONS.

  • YOU MUST BE A CITIZEN OF THE UNITED STATES OR A PERMANENT LEGAL RESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES WHO IS AN HONORABLY DISCHARGED VETERAN OF THE UNITED STATES ARMED FORCES PURSUANT TO §38-8-105(d).

  • YOU MUST POSSESS A VALID DRIVER'S LICENSE.

  • YOU MUST HAVE AN HONORABLE DISCHARGE FROM ANY OF THE ARMED FORCES OF THE UNITED STATES (IF APPLICABLE).

3rd Step: YOU MUST SIGN UP FOR AN AVAILABLE TIME SLOT TO TAKE THE PHYSICAL AGILITY TEST.
 
PHYSICAL AGILITY TEST SCHEDULING DATES
  • MONDAY, 11/13/2023 thru FRIDAY, 11/17/2023

The Physical Agility Test will take approximately 2 hours; you must wear comfortable work-out attire; and, it will consist of the following activities: Broad Jump, Sit-Ups, Push-Ups, Chin-Ups, Dummy Drag & One Mile Run.

NOTE: If you do not schedule yourself for the Physical Agility Test and/or fail to make your appointment for the Physical Agility Test, you will have disqualified yourself from this Deputy Sheriff's application process. YOU MUST BE ON TIME - PHYSICAL AGILITY TESTING DATES & TIMES WILL NOT BE RESCHEDULED.
